Lately, there has been a lot of talk about change on the national level. But, as you and most people know, the path to change starts at home. 2008 promises to be one of the most exciting election years of all-time.

As a candidate for House District 48, I'd like to offer real change on the local level. As a constituent, you realize that the time for change is NOW.

I would like to commit to you that with honesty, integrity and perseverance I will do my best to listen actively and best represent your views.

So, here is just a little information about myself:

• I live in the Tri-Town area.
• I'm happily married to Anne, a wonderful lady and my most valued supporter.
• I have four adopted children and two biological — three of which are physically challenged. All six have attended college.
• I was the President of the Denver Center National Air Traffic Controllers Association when work started on DIA.
• As a Vietnam veteran, I served our country proudly and understand the issues our veterans face daily, including those men and women now returning to the United States. I'm an advocate for increased support for their integration back into our communities.
• Following the party doesn’t always work. I believe that sometimes voting on a specific issue along party lines does not necessarily represent the interests of the people in my district — so I may deviate from the party line in these cases through negotiation and compromise.
• I believe that people in governing bodies throughout the political spectrum are at gridlock because of their inability to get along and work with others outside their own party.
• I believe that in order to make changes at home we must start locally.
